Centuries of Meditations

Centuries of Meditations

Thomas Traherne (1636 or 1637 – c. 1674) was an English poet and Anglican clergyman whose writings overflow with wonder at God's creation and the innocence of childhood. He served as a parish rector in Herefordshire and as chaplain to a government minister. His major work, Centuries of Meditations, lay unknown in manuscript for over two centuries before its rediscovery and first publication in 1908.

Its short, radiant sections invite the reader to recover a childlike gratitude for the world God has made.
