Practical Discourses on Regeneration

Practical Discourses on Regeneration

Philip Doddridge (1702–1751) was an English Congregational minister, educator, and hymn writer. For over twenty years he pastored at Northampton and ran an academy that trained nearly two hundred dissenting ministers. His The Rise and Progress of Religion in the Soul became a classic of evangelical conversion literature, and hymns such as 'O God of Bethel' are still sung; several of his discourse volumes are in our library.
