Frederick Brotherton Meyer (1847–1929) was an English Baptist pastor and evangelist, a contemporary and friend of D. L. Moody. He pastored churches in York, Leicester, and London — longest at Christ Church, Lambeth — campaigned against drunkenness and immorality, and was a leading speaker at the Keswick Convention. His many devotional books, including The Way into the Holiest and The Secret of Guidance, remain in print today.

F. B. Meyer's short book on how Christians may know and follow God's guidance, first published in 1896. Meyer treats the conditions of a guided life — a surrendered will, obedience to light already given, and patience in delay — and the ways God leads through Scripture, providence, and inward impression. Practical and unhurried, it remains a steady handbook for decision-making in the Christian life.
