Dwight Lyman Moody (1837–1899) was an American evangelist who left a Chicago shoe business for full-time Christian work. Through YMCA service, his Chicago church, and revival campaigns with singer Ira Sankey across Britain and America, he became the best-known evangelist of his century. He founded schools at Northfield and the Chicago institute that bears his name; our library holds his Prevailing Prayer, Sovereign Grace, and other popular books.

A collection of Dwight L. Moody's evangelistic sermons, published in 1884, on how a sinner may find the way to God. Moody deals with the questions inquirers actually ask — about faith, repentance, and the new birth — in the plain, direct speech that filled his meetings. It preserves the voice of the nineteenth century's best-known evangelist.
