Unspoken Sermons, Series One

George MacDonald (1824–1905) was a Scottish author, poet, and Congregational minister. Briefly a pastor, he turned to writing and lecturing, producing fairy tales and novels that pioneered modern fantasy and deeply influenced C. S. Lewis. His theology found its most direct expression in his sermons: our library holds his Unspoken Sermons in three series and The Hope of the Gospel, works of imaginative, searching Christian reflection.

About this book

The first series of George MacDonald's Unspoken Sermons, published in 1867. MacDonald, the Scottish novelist and poet, preaches here in essay form on the Fatherhood of God, on obedience, and on the childlike trust that lies at the heart of faith.
