Works of Thomas Manton, D.D. Vol. VI

Thomas Manton (1620–1677) was an English Puritan clergyman, clerk to the Westminster Assembly and later rector of St Paul's, Covent Garden, in London. A respected preacher — he also served as a chaplain to Oliver Cromwell — Manton was ejected in 1662 and continued ministering in private. His sermons were collected after his death in the multi-volume Complete Works in our library, including his much-loved exposition of Psalm 119.

About this book

The sixth volume of the collected works of Thomas Manton, the Puritan preacher who served as one of the clerks of the Westminster Assembly. The sermons gathered here come from his London ministry and show his manner at its best: a text opened carefully, doctrines drawn out in order, and everything pressed home upon the conscience.
