Causes and Danger of Slighting Christ and His Gospel

Richard Baxter (1615–1691) was an English Puritan church leader and theologian. His ministry at Kidderminster transformed a neglected parish town, and though ejected in 1662 he remained one of Nonconformity's most influential voices, writing well over a hundred books. Our library holds The Reformed Pastor — his classic on the minister's work — A Call to the Unconverted, The Saints' Everlasting Rest, and his extensive Practical Works.

About this book

A late work of Richard Baxter, published in 1691, warning against the sin of neglecting Christ and His gospel. Baxter sets out the causes that make men slight so great salvation — ignorance, custom, love of the world — and the danger that follows contempt of the Redeemer's offers. It is the aging pastor's earnest plea to careless hearers.
