History of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Volume II.

Nathan Bangs (1778–1862) was an American Methodist minister and one of the leading organizers of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Converted in Canada in 1800, he rode as an itinerant preacher there and in the northern United States before settling into editorial and leadership work in New York. Our library holds his four-volume History of the Methodist Episcopal Church, long a standard account of American Methodism's first decades.
