Autobiography of John G. Paton

Autobiography of John G. Paton

John Gibson Paton (1824–1907) was a Scottish Presbyterian missionary to the New Hebrides islands in the South Pacific, now Vanuatu. After city mission work in Glasgow he sailed in 1858, enduring bereavement and danger on Tanna before seeing a church established on Aniwa. His Autobiography — in our library as John G. Paton: Missionary to the New Hebrides — became a missionary classic and recruited generations of workers.
