Charles Hodge (1797–1878) was an American Presbyterian theologian and the leading figure of Princeton Theological Seminary, where he taught for over fifty years and served as principal from 1851 to 1878. Through the Princeton Review and his classroom he defended confessional Reformed orthodoxy for a generation of ministers. His three-volume Systematic Theology remains a standard work, and our library also holds The Way of Life and his Ephesians commentary.

Charles Hodge's commentary on the Epistle to the Ephesians, first published in 1856 by the Princeton theologian. Hodge explains Paul's letter with his usual order and candor, weighing other interpretations fairly before giving his own, and dwelling on the riches of grace in Christ, the unity of the church, and the duties of the Christian household and warfare.
