Commentary on the Whole Bible Volume IV (Isaiah to Malachi)

Commentary on the Whole Bible Volume IV (Isaiah to Malachi)

by Matthew Henry

Matthew Henry (1662–1714) was an English Nonconformist minister, pastor of a Presbyterian congregation in Chester. He is remembered for the work he began in 1704, his Exposition of the Old and New Testaments — a complete Bible commentary of warm, practical, quotable exposition. Henry finished the text through Acts; after his death, fellow ministers completed the remaining volumes from his notes. All six volumes are in our library.

About this book

Volume four of Matthew Henry's commentary on the Bible, covering Isaiah through Malachi. Henry expounds the prophets great and small — their calls to repentance, their comforts for the afflicted, and their promises of Christ — with steady attention to both the history and the reader's heart. His closing notes on the Old Testament prepare the way for the gospel that follows.
