Evidences of the Christian Religion

Evidences of the Christian Religion

Joseph Addison (1672–1719) was an English essayist and statesman, co-founder with Richard Steele of The Tatler and The Spectator, whose polished prose shaped English letters. A sincere churchman, he also wrote hymns still sung, including 'The Spacious Firmament on High'. Our library holds his Evidences of the Christian Religion, published after his death, in which he sets out the historical proofs of the faith for general readers.
