Hymns and Meditations

Anna Letitia Waring (1823–1910) was a Welsh poet and hymn writer, born at Neath in Glamorganshire. Raised a Quaker, she joined the Church of England in 1842 and learned Hebrew to read the Psalms in the original. Her Hymns and Meditations (1850) gave the church 'In heavenly love abiding' and 'Father, I know that all my life'. She also worked for discharged prisoners in Bristol.

About this book

A collection of hymns and meditative poems by Anna Laetitia Waring, published in 1850. Waring's best-known hymn, 'In Heavenly Love Abiding,' sets the tone of the volume: quiet trust, patient endurance, and rest in God's care amid changing circumstances. Modest in scale and gentle in spirit, her verses have long been valued for private devotion.
