Allen William Chatfield (1808–1896) was an English Anglican clergyman and classical scholar, educated at Charterhouse and Trinity College, Cambridge. He served as vicar of Stotfold and then of Much Marcle in Herefordshire for nearly fifty years. Alongside parish work he rendered early Greek Christian poetry into English verse in Songs and Hymns of the Earliest Greek Christian Poets (1876); his version of Synesius, 'Lord Jesus, think on me', entered the hymnals.
