The Keyes of the Kingdom of Heaven

The Keyes of the Kingdom of Heaven

John Cotton (1585–1652) was an English Puritan minister who became the leading teacher of the first generation in New England. Long minister at Boston in Lincolnshire, he emigrated in 1633 and served as teacher of the Boston church in Massachusetts until his death. His writings — The Way of Life, The Keyes of the Kingdom of Heaven, and A Treatise of the Covenant of Grace — shaped early New England's churches.

About this book

John Cotton's treatise on the keys of the kingdom of heaven, published in 1644 by the leading Puritan minister of early New England. It is an important early statement of Congregational church order and practice.
