Essay on the Mosaic Account of the Creation and Fall of Man

Nathaniel Lardner (1684–1768) was an English Presbyterian minister and theologian who devoted his life to defending the historical credibility of the New Testament. His great work, The Credibility of the Gospel History, assembled ancient testimony about Christ and the apostles across many volumes and became a standard work of Christian evidences. Our library carries two of his smaller treatises, on the Mosaic account of the creation and fall and on three of Christ's miracles.

About this book

An essay by Nathaniel Lardner on the opening chapters of Genesis, examining Moses's account of the creation and the fall of man. Lardner, best known for his careful defense of the credibility of the Gospel history, brings the same measured, evidence-weighing approach to the first pages of Scripture. A specimen of eighteenth-century English apologetics at its most sober.
