Nathaniel Lardner (1684–1768) was an English Presbyterian minister and theologian who devoted his life to defending the historical credibility of the New Testament. His great work, The Credibility of the Gospel History, assembled ancient testimony about Christ and the apostles across many volumes and became a standard work of Christian evidences. Our library carries two of his smaller treatises, on the Mosaic account of the creation and fall and on three of Christ's miracles.

Nathaniel Lardner's defense of three miracle accounts in the Gospels, written against the skeptics of his day and published in this form in 1768. Lardner, the respected author of The Credibility of the Gospel History, answers objections patiently and in detail. A specimen of eighteenth-century evidential apologetics at its most careful.
