Expositions of Holy Scripture: Deuteronomy to Second Kings

Expositions of Holy Scripture: Deuteronomy to Second Kings

Alexander MacLaren (1826–1910) was a Scottish Baptist minister famed for expository preaching. After early pastorates he settled at Union Chapel, Manchester, for forty-five years, and twice served as president of the Baptist Union. MacLaren prepared his sermons with a scholar's care and delivered them with a poet's touch; the many volumes of his Expositions of Holy Scripture — whole-Bible preaching in print — form his monument in our library.
