Stones Rolled Away and Other Addresses

Henry Drummond (1851–1897) was a Scottish evangelist and scientist. A lecturer in natural science at the Free Church College in Glasgow, he travelled with D. L. Moody's campaigns in Britain and America and spoke to students across the English-speaking world. His address The Greatest Thing in the World — a meditation on 1 Corinthians 13 — became a devotional classic; our library also holds The Ideal Life and other collections of his addresses.

About this book

A collection of addresses by the Scottish evangelist Henry Drummond, published in 1897 and directed especially to young people. Taking the resurrection image of the stone rolled away as its leading theme, the book meets the doubts, temptations, and ambitions of student life with candor and sympathy. Drummond's gentle, conversational manner made him a favorite speaker of his generation.
