The New Evangelism and Other Papers

Henry Drummond (1851–1897) was a Scottish evangelist and scientist. A lecturer in natural science at the Free Church College in Glasgow, he travelled with D. L. Moody's campaigns in Britain and America and spoke to students across the English-speaking world. His address The Greatest Thing in the World — a meditation on 1 Corinthians 13 — became a devotional classic; our library also holds The Ideal Life and other collections of his addresses.

About this book

A posthumous collection of Henry Drummond's essays and addresses, published in 1899. In the title paper and the pieces gathered with it, Drummond reflects on how the gospel should be presented to a changing age, and on the Church's task among students and the wider public. A window into the evangelical mind of the late Victorian era.
