The Ideal Life

The Ideal Life

Henry Drummond (1851–1897) was a Scottish evangelist and scientist. A lecturer in natural science at the Free Church College in Glasgow, he travelled with D. L. Moody's campaigns in Britain and America and spoke to students across the English-speaking world. His address The Greatest Thing in the World — a meditation on 1 Corinthians 13 — became a devotional classic; our library also holds The Ideal Life and other collections of his addresses.

About this book

A posthumous collection of Henry Drummond's sermons and addresses, published in 1897, the year of his death. Drummond, the Scottish scientist and evangelist, speaks here of the Christian life at its best — its ideals of love, humility, and unselfish service. His style is quiet and persuasive, addressing thoughtful readers in the language of everyday experience rather than the lecture hall.
