Spurgeon's Sermons Volume 01: 1855

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) was an English Baptist preacher who pastored London's Metropolitan Tabernacle for thirty-eight years. Converted as a teenager, he became the most widely heard preacher of the Victorian age — the 'Prince of Preachers' — drawing thousands weekly and publishing his sermons around the world. Our library carries his Morning and Evening devotional, The Treasury of David, and dozens of his sermon volumes.

About this book

From 1855, the first volume of C. H. Spurgeon's published sermons, this collection preserves preaching from the opening years of his London ministry. The preaching is direct and affectionate, mixing doctrinal substance with searching application and a steady call to trust Christ. Taken slowly, these sermons serve well for Sabbath reading, family worship, or the study of applied biblical exposition.
