Spurgeon's Sermons Volume 04: 1858

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) was an English Baptist preacher who pastored London's Metropolitan Tabernacle for thirty-eight years. Converted as a teenager, he became the most widely heard preacher of the Victorian age — the 'Prince of Preachers' — drawing thousands weekly and publishing his sermons around the world. Our library carries his Morning and Evening devotional, The Treasury of David, and dozens of his sermon volumes.

About this book

From 1858, the fourth volume of C. H. Spurgeon's published sermons, this collection preserves preaching from the opening years of his London ministry. The volume shows his familiar method—text first, doctrine drawn out, then application that leaves no hearer a mere spectator. It is a fitting volume for readers who value evangelical preaching that is doctrinal in substance and pastoral in tone.
