Ellen Gould White (1827–1915) was an American religious author and a co-founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Beginning with visions in her teens, she wrote extensively on Bible history, health, education, and Christian living, and helped shape Adventist institutions worldwide. Adventists regard her writings as an authoritative prophetic voice. Our library carries Steps to Christ, The Desire of Ages, The Great Controversy, and others of her Conflict of the Ages series.

Ellen G. White's narrative follows the apostles from Christ's ascension through the missionary expansion of the early church. Drawing chiefly on Acts and the apostolic writings, it presents Pentecost, the preaching of Peter and Paul, and the church's advance amid opposition. The emphasis throughout falls on consecration, prayer, and the Holy Spirit's work in mission.
