Spurgeon's Sermons Volume 29: 1883

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) was an English Baptist preacher who pastored London's Metropolitan Tabernacle for thirty-eight years. Converted as a teenager, he became the most widely heard preacher of the Victorian age — the 'Prince of Preachers' — drawing thousands weekly and publishing his sermons around the world. Our library carries his Morning and Evening devotional, The Treasury of David, and dozens of his sermon volumes.

About this book

Volume 29 of Spurgeon's Metropolitan Tabernacle sermons collects the sermons issued in 1883, part of the long weekly series through which his preaching was preserved in print. Here Spurgeon teaches, reproves, and consoles in turn, urging the unconverted to flee to Christ and believers to walk closely with Him. Taken slowly, these sermons serve well for Sabbath reading, family worship, or the study of applied biblical exposition.
